We operate an emergency welfare support system where you can receive help in cases where your livelihood becomes difficult due to sudden crises such as natural disasters, unemployment, business closure, disease, or injury.

Emergency welfare support system
This is a system that quickly provides livelihood, housing, and medical care to low-income people who have difficulty maintaining their livelihood due to crisis situations such as loss of income due to unemployment.
You can request support from the jurisdictional city, county, district (eup, myeon, dong), or Health and Welfare Counseling Center (☎129), and anyone who discovers a person eligible for emergency support can report it to the support request agency.
2024 Emergency Welfare Livelihood Support Fund
In accordance with the increase in the National Basic Living Security livelihood benefit in 2024, the amount of emergency welfare livelihood support in 2024 will also increase, increasing by 13.16% for a four-person household, which will amount to 1,833,500 won per month.

3 people: 1,508,600 won

6 people: 2,437,800 won
For 7 or more people, an additional 286,900 won is paid for each additional person.
Any low-income person in a crisis situation under the Emergency Welfare Support Act can receive emergency welfare livelihood support funds.
Reason for crisis
- In case of loss of income due to the death, runaway, disappearance, etc. of the main income earner
- If you suffer from a serious illness or injury
- If you have been neglected, abandoned, abused, etc. by a household member
- When it is difficult to live in the building you live in due to fire, natural disaster, etc.
- Other cases determined and announced by the Minister of Health and Welfare, etc.
Financial assets, which are the criteria for selecting subjects, will be improved to reflect the median income as of 2024 and the amount of financial assets per household member.

For households receiving emergency welfare, livelihood, and housing support, heating fuel costs are also supported during the winter season from October to March.
Due to the rapid increase in heating costs, the amount increased from 110,000 won per month to 150,000 won per month starting February 22, 2023 and will continue to apply in 2024.
